Psalm 33 begins with an emphatic exhortation to wholehearted praise (1-3) and ends with a commitment from the singer that he will wait, hope, rejoice and trust (20-22). In between we find the reasons for praise and hope: 1. The character and power of God\u2019s word (4-9). His word is trustworthy and effective. What God promises is what God will do. 2. The plans which God is working out in this world (10-12). The LORD has not created the world and left it to be, he is actively involved to accomplish his purposes. 3. The omniscient (all seeing) nature of God (13-19). Although God does not act immediately to bring judgement, he sees and knows waiting for the best time to intervene and rescue those who belong to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we sing this song we do so knowing that all of God\u2019s promises are yes and amen in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). We can trust him to care and provide for us today whilst we wait for the return of Christ in glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
